Beauty addict: a Boots haul

At the weekend Harriet got a little carried away in Boots and came out with a fair few beauty items! Everything is on three for two at the moment so it's well worth having a look as you could be picking up a bargain!

Eylure false lashes
Eylure really are fab when it comes to eyelashes so I picked up these Naturalites - as they're a bit lighter than the bigger lashes they do they're much easier to stick. I haven't tried out the Individual Lashes yet but am hoping to get some use out of them at the weekend!

Barry M lipstick
I loved how vividly pink this lipstick was, I tend to either go for a fairly pale pink or a brighter red so it's a new shade for me but I wore it on Saturday when I went out to Snobs (outfit post here) and it was really easy to wear and lasted for ages so I'm definitely impressed.

Soap and Glory Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit obsessed with eyebrows so when I saw this I wanted it straightaway! I have to say, I'm not head over heels in love with it. It provides a nice subtle look so I'll definitely be using it when I'm having a laid back day with barely any make up but for the heavier look I normally go for I will have to combine it with other products.

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer
My sister's got this concealer and it looked great so I thought I'd pick one up. The darker shade on the left is great for covering blemishes while the lighter shade is fab for under the eyes and then you use a little of the powder on top! Definitely worth a buy and the packaging is super cute too!

Soap and Glory Cheekmate
I LOVE this product. I've found myself using brown shades a lot recently on my cheeks to try and brighten up my pasty winter complexion but this tint is totally persuading me to go back to the pinks and reds! You only need to use the tiniest amount of this product and it takes about two seconds to apply, with any extra tint going on to your lips to give them a rosy glow. I get the feeling it will last forever because of how little you need each time but I'll certainly be repurchasing when the time comes.

Nail varnish
I don't think I've ever walked out of Boots (other stores are available!) without some nail varnish and this time was no exception. I actually felt I'd been quite restrained just picking up two. The Barry M is the textured nail one we featured on the April wishlist (click here if you haven't seen it) while the Maybelline Color Show one I just thought was a really different colour. I have lots of green shades but nothing like this. It kinda reminds me of gunge but in a cool way! I wore it on Saturday and it provided a much-needed pop of colour for the my outfit.

Wardrobe wishlist: our favourite spring looks

Well it's almost April and like any fashion lovers we've been looking forward to the month ahead and all the goodies we want to buy. Our wardrobes are set to be bursting at the seams once we've purchased everything on our wishlist! But for now we've put together a list of six of our favourite items for spring. Click on any of the descriptions to go straight to the store's website if any of them tickle your fancy!

EMMA:

Leopard print is one of those prints that will be around for the rest of our lives and I absolutely love these! They just scream 'style' right at you and I'm sure these little beauts will be on my feet all year round.

I am loving the American Apparel skirts these season, they almost look vintage and can be dressed up or down for day or night!

I absolutely love this perfume! The smell is so fresh it makes you feel as though you're walking through a field full of flowers and the fragrance lasts forever!

I really can't wait to buy this panther bag from Topshop. It's so lightweight that you can throw anything in it and at just £15 you'll really get your money's worth!

I am loving this dress from Topshop - what a find! I'll be wearing this constantly, I especially love the looseness of it which will be ideal on days you don't feel your best!

I can't wait to buy and wear this trainers, they'll just look so cool with anything you pair them with!

HARRIET:

I really want to try out this textured look on my nails and, knowing my love for Barry M, will probably end up with all four of the shades on offer in this range at the moment!

The distinctive pattern on this dress just caught my eye straightaway! It's only £30 and I think it would look amazing with a simple pair of heels, statement earrings and a big bun hairdo for going out this spring!

I'm a massive fan of a blazer and love it when it gets to the point where you can finally shed those winter clothes and get out and about with just a jacket on! The print on this little number is simply lovely.

I am in desperate need of some new heels (if 'want' means 'need'!) and my heart skipped a little beat when I saw these. Not only are they my absolute favourite print in the world but they're also a fab shape, get me to the shops now!

I already have way too many denim shirts in my wardrobe but the pattern on this is so lovely I don't think I'll be able to resist!

I'm a big fan of New Look for jeans as I think their sizing is very reliable and the quality's great for the price. I want to go a bit bolder with my jeans this seasons so these would be the perfect pair to achieve that look!

Sunday shades: nail varnish we love

Sunday is the perfect time to chill out, get yourself organised and get ready for the week ahead. And one of the perfect ways to do that is to make sure your nails are looking good! Nail varnish has been around for more than 5,000 years and it just gets more and more exciting every year with a bigger selection of colours, longer lasting and more durable polish and a whole host of added extras on top of the base shade.

H&M - Come Along With Me / Barry M - 308 / Rimmel - Coral Romance

Missguided - Misfit / Models Own - Magenta Divine / Barry M - Diamond Glitter

Patterns are everywhere at the moment! Emma's loving tortoiseshell like the ones below while Harriet's super impressed with these leopard print nails from her very own sister Henrietta!

Inspiration is everywhere and you really don't have to look very far to see something which will suit you - whether it's a simple design or something really crazy and out there!

Pictures from www.weheartit.com.

So this week we challenge you to do something creative with your nails! Buy a shade you wouldn't normally buy or decorate your nails with a pattern - we'd love to see whatever you choose to do, either link us a picture in the comments below or send it to our Twitter.

Treasure your new Things Tuesday: beauty and accessories

As we've probably mentioned a few times we love shopping and buying new things! Today we thought we'd bring you a selection of new accessories, beauty items and make up we've purchased this week - and of course tell you why we love them!

EMMA:

Topshop sandals
I absolutely love these sandals which I bought last week from Topshop - as soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them! They will go with almost everything and I've been braving the cold weather to wear them already because I can't wait to pop them on my feet!

Nivea Regenerating Night Cream and Rich Moisturising Day Cream
I love trying out new creams for my face and these Nivea products are absolutely amazing, they have really brightened up my cheeks!

MaxFactor Pan Stick
This pan stick is a must have! You only need to cover your face once and it gives you amazing coverage which lasts all day without the need to keep topping it up! It comes in five different shades, lasts for eight weeks or more and is only £6.99 - girls you need to run out and get one now!

Collection 2000 Bronzer
Like most girls I can't live without fake tan and this bronzer is truly the best. It gives you a natural bronzed look which I'm totally in love with!

HARRIET:

Scarf - vintage
This was one of three new scarves I got from Emma's shop last week. I absolutely love the pattern on it and the dark colours which match perfectly with all of my lovely coats! I hardly ever go out without some sort of scarf on and this is a more than welcome addition to my huge collection!

Barry M nail varnishes
As if I didn't have enough nail varnishes, I picked up this lovely green and red glitter one and also a green colour too from Barry M which is definitely one of my favourite brands for nail colours. The glitter one looks a bit Christmassy but I'm loving wearing it now and I'm always a fan of a green colour too!

MUA blusher
I've been using this shade to contour my face rather than as a blusher as it's just the right shade to blend in with my more pink looking Maybelline blusher. I love how cheap MUA products are but the quality is still so high!

Primark bracelets
I just loved how simple and cute these bracelets were - perfect for laying up and creating a really cool casual look.

Primark shoes
Studded shoes are everywhere right now but I thought I'd buy some plain slip on suede look shoes so that I could stud them myself - I'm currently on the lookout for the perfect studs to use but while I am I've been wearing these and the same ones I purchased in a teal colour loads - they're perfect with tights and a little dress or equally with jeans.

Fashion Friday: tailored jackets.

Fashion is all about taking a trend and making it your own so we thought we'd show you how you can pick a  piece and wear it day or night, no matter what you're doing! Following fashion is so easy these days when you can walk in to any high street shop and pick a beautiful piece off the rails but equally we firmly believe you can find a look which screams trendy by wearing vintage - they say fashion goes round in circles so why not pick a piece made last time today's trends were hot, that way you can guarantee you'll be the only one rocking it wherever you go!

This week we've picked tailored jackets - EVERYONE is wearing them right now and here's how we'd wear ours:

This cheeky checked little number is so on trend and has found its new owner who snapped it up as soon as they saw it in Emma's shop.

Emma's styled a beautiful night-time look for it: dress - Topshop/ shoes - vintage / bag - vintage / cross - Forever 21 / ball necklace - vintage.

And Harriet's paired it with some comfy casuals for a daytime look: oversized men's vest - Primark / jeans - New Look / headscarf - vintage / rings - H&M.

You can find this amazing striped blazer on sale at Primark!

This is Emma's daytime look for the stripy blazer: cami top - vintage / leather mini skirt - H&M / necklace - vintage / shoes - Converse (you can always add tights to this look while it's still a little chilly to go bare legged).

And for a night-time look this is how Harriet would style it: dress - H&M / glittery shoes - New Look / owl earrings - gift / glitter (for eyes) - Barry M / nail varnish - Missguided.

This super cool vintage jacket is on sale at the shop.

This outfit styled by Emma would be perfect for a dinner date: dress - Topshop / boots - Kurt Geiger / nail varnish - OPI / belt - Primark.

Finally this is a work look from Harriet: dress - Topshop / watch - New Look / belt - Primark / boots - Primark / headscarf - H&M / nail varnish - Barry M.

Hopefully that's given you some inspiration - maybe there's a jacket you've had hanging in your wardrobe waiting for them to fill the pages of fashion magazines again or if not why not get out there and pick up a high street or a vintage jacket to complement any look!
